Premier League transfer record

The 20 clubs in the English Premier League have already spent more money on transfers than ever before the end of the summer window on 1 September.

As of Thursday, £1.5bn (€1.78bn) had been invested in transfer fees for new players. According to calculations by the auditing company Deloitte, the previous high of £1.43 billion (1.7) from the transfer summer of 2017 has been exceeded.

Premier League clubs spent the most money in an entire season in 2017/2018. Back then, including the winter transfer window, £1.86 billion (2.21) in transfer fees went into new players. In the previous 2021/2022 season, it had totaled £1.44 billion (1.71).

The Premier League’s most expensive signing this summer is Darwin Nunez, who joined Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool from Benfica for £85.5m (101.42).
