Police tasers man (51) who drives onto a terrace in Renesse twice Inland

The reason would have been a conflict with the staff of a catering business. Jeroen Giele, the owner of one of the cafes where the man was driving on the terrace, tells the PZC that the problems started when the man got into an argument with the doormen of another cafe. “Together with our porters, they tried to calm him down, but he went completely crazy.” The man would have left at first, but later returned with his car. Then he drove onto the terraces.

Videos on social media show people throwing glasses at the car from the terrace and kicking the car.

The man then ran off in the direction of Jan van Renessseweg where he got out of the car himself. When officers rushed to find him there, the man approached them. “It looked like he had a stabbing weapon in his hand.” Because the suspect did not listen to instructions from the officers, the electric shock weapon was used and pepper spray was also used. The man was arrested and transferred to the station.
