No.not only for young people who are preparing for the world of work: here are some interesting training initiatives to broaden their horizons.
A Sunday of formation in the future
Learn to design and 3D print. Discover the rules of Digital Storytelling, to best tell a story. Making an interactive product thanks to an E-textile laboratory. Program a robot. These are some of the training activities for families – free, with reservations required – which will be held on Sunday in Milan from 11 Septemberin the new space STEP FuturAbility District in piazza Olivetti 1.
Objective of the Sunday @ STEP workshops, open to children aged 8 to 16 (up to 14 you need a companion), is to increase digital skills and the conscious use of the internet through exciting training activities, tailored to children.
A journey into the digital world
STEP is also a great new technological and informative space with a 10-step path where anyone can connect with the technological transformation and understand how to approach the future. A smartphone is enough to start an immersive and interactive journey to discover artificial intelligence, cloud computing, the Internet of things, but also the new professional opportunities that are related to it.. At the end of the course, you will receive FuturAbility, a personalized profile of your digital skills and attitude towards the future, with suggestions for training courses to follow in order to deepen. The visits, free of charge, are from Tuesday to Sunday.
Empowerment for Southern students
The new editions of two training programs of the Ortygia Business School Foundationfounded by Lucrezia Reichlin. The first is YEP Young Women Empowerment Program, aimed at students of master’s degrees in economics and STEM, enrolled in various universities in the South: for six months they are supported by a professional mentor, who guides them in their studies and in starting work. A completely free opportunity, with one-to-one meetings and workshops in member companies.
The graduates accompany the high school students
And the mentee students of YEP, once formed and initiated, then accompany the high school students in My Future Buddythe program of orientation and development of transversal skills for students of the fourth classes of high schools. On the part of the “older sisters” (Buddy) the way to give back to the younger the knowledge learned. The first edition involved 200 students from 8 institutes, in the autumn we start again.
Open the calls for the Colleges of merit
There are over 1000 places available in all of Italy 53 University Colleges of Merit (CCUM) for the next academic year. To be admitted you must have a good high school grade and pass two or more oral tests in the disciplines of the chosen faculty. In many Colleges the registration deadline is August 26, but it is better to consult the site collegiuniversitari.it and from there look for information on what interests most.
Colleges are non-profit entities where students as well as have board and lodging with scholarships covering 30 to 100 percent of the tuition fee, they can take advantage of a training course that enriches the university one and which is generally centered on job orientation. Once admitted, to stay you must be on time with the exams and maintain a good average.
An experience of training and life
It is worth it, because the experience of life in a College, with many motivated guys from different regions, is a unique training opportunity. And there is a more important fact: one year after graduation, 97.5 percent of students have a job.
A few Colleges to remember: among the historical ones of Pavia there is the Ghislieri, where today a third of students have a scholarship that fully covers room and board, and where 93 percent have graduated with honors in the last ten years. Or theAlmo Borromeo Collegealso in Pavia, founded by San Carlo Borromeo in 1561. Another prestigious institution is the San Carlo of Modenawhere registration closes on 10 September.
