Fourth 2-1 win against Leipzig in a row!

By Sebastian Kayser

2:1 against Leipzig. The new table second in the Bundesliga is called Union! 1st place is just missed.

Robin Knoche (30): “It’s only the third day of the game, that’s a nice snapshot. We’re enjoying the moment now, we’ll look at it next week and we want to continue like this.”

The fact is: After three games, the Köpenickers are up in the Bundesliga!

Because with Jordan Siebatcheu and Sheraldo Becker they have a brilliantly functioning storm duo!

► Before the 1-0, Janik Haberer sends Becker in the direction of the Leipzig goal. The native Dutchman sees Siebatcheu, who closes flat in the lower left corner (32nd).

Becker on Siebatcheu – it also works the other way around.

► Siebatcheu puts the ball in midfield into Becker’s path, who dribbles into the penalty area, makes opponent Gvardiol look old and shoots the ball into the top left corner. The 2: 0 (38th).

Manager Oliver Ruhnert during the break on “Sky” to Becker: “He’s brutally exploiting his situations at the moment.” At the moment? An understatement. The offensive man scored three goals in his last five Bundesliga games of the season.

After the break, the duo almost strikes again. Becker passes the ball low into the penalty area from the left, where Siebatcheu pulls it straight away – just wide (59′)! His last action. After 62 minutes, the Franco-American is allowed to celebrate – standing ovations included. In the end, it was the fourth 2-1 league win in a row against the Saxons because Orban’s goal came too late (83rd).

Christopher Trimmel said: “We brought our strengths back into play. That was quite a challenge. A bit of luck is also part of it.”

by the way: As usual, the Union fans are silent in the first 15 minutes in protest against RB. The mood boycott is not really noticeable. Little happens.

curious: Defender Diogo Leite changes his jersey in the 23rd minute because he starts with a cup shirt. Union technical director Michael Parensen takes the jersey out of the dressing room beforehand…
