The murmur of the masses

A few days ago I published a statement on my twitter account that some interpreted as an attack against Sergio Massa, as a result of his arrival at the Executive. And the truth is that it is not. Like a good part of the national and popular field, I had to overcome, in 2019, the contradiction of sharing a political front with Massa. He was justified by a superior or main objective, which was to democratically dislodge neoliberalism from the government. So I digested that toad long ago.

The reason for the criticism was another. A few weeks ago, we witnessed a supposed open-air debate of ideas, which, added to the inaction of the government and the noise of the usual coup plotters, put together the perfect combo to generate a power vacuum that required quick and consensual decisions on the part of the government. of the front dome.

What I criticize, precisely, is the decision that this leadership adopted regarding the economic direction, because it implies the idea that the only way out of the economic and social crisis is to the right. We, the Socialists of the Front, do not think that this is the way to go.

But we are part of this government and we are going to defend it, because if we fail the alternative will be the return of a brutal right, especially with our poor people. That is why, with its lights and shadows, we continue to choose Kirchnerism to channel our militant strength at this stage.

I stress, however: just as we see the financial crisis, we also see and are hurt by the profound social crisis. And it seems to us that in the Front, at this moment, paraphrasing Antonio Gramsci, we should pay more attention to the murmur of the masses.
