Ypres is preparing for WRC and BRC

A total of 88 teams are registered for this competition, including all top players from the WRC and BRC. Among them also eleven-time winner of the Ypres Rally, Freddy Loix (Skoda Fabia Rally2).

Divided over the three competition days, the participants are presented with a fully paved course. Ypres is the first asphalt rally since the Croatia rally that was organized in April. Ypres is known for its narrow roads and deep cords. There is little room to make mistakes.

The action starts on Thursday afternoon with the shakedown in Nieuwkerke, where a 7.34 km stage has been drawn. From Friday to Sunday, 20 classification stages will be ridden, for a total of 281.58 km. The beating heart of the Ypres rally is the large market in Ypres.

On Friday there will be two loops of four classification stages each. With 19.6 km, the ride from Westouter-Boeschepe is the longest. On Saturday, another two loops of four classification stages each will be run, including the stage of Dikkebus and Hollebeke. The latter is the longest of the rally at 22.32 km.

Unlike last year, when everything and everyone moved to Francorchamps, the rally circus now remains close to Ypres. The legendary ride of the Kemmelberg will be run twice on Sunday and will also serve as a power stage. We will know the winner of the rally of Ypres around 2.30 pm.
