Walker Christopher Linke celebrated the greatest success of his career with silver at the European Championships in Munich.
On Tuesday (08/16/2022) Linke was only beaten by the Spaniard Miguel Angel Lopez, who won in 2:13:56 hours. The German crossed the finish line just under 2:40 minutes later and celebrated the medal with the German flag. “Gold was gone early, it looked like bronze but I felt good and luckily the Swede got into trouble”said the overjoyed new Vice European Champion.
Bronze went to Italy to Matteo Giupponi. Jonathan Hilbert came in fifth, who, like Link, set a new personal best. The good German result was completed by Carl Dohmann in eighth place.
