Frans van Houten leaves as CEO at Philips

Frans van Houten will leave in mid-October as CEO of medical technology company Philips. He will be succeeded by Roy Jakobs, who already works for the company.

Van Houten has had ultimate responsibility at Philips for almost twelve years. The last years of his leadership were marked by the scandal surrounding the sleep apnea devices from Philips, which may have caused health problems.

Jakobs is still ultimately responsible for the recall with these devices.
