Canada defeated the Czech Republic 5-1 in the group stage of the World Youth Championship in Edmonton.
Canada was clearly stronger in any way other than in terms of goals, as the number of shots in the match went to the host team with a score of 57–23.
One of Canada’s most important forwards was particularly impressive in the match Kent Johnsonwho scored an aerial shot at the end of the opening set.

The match also saw the largest audience of the tournament so far, 5,135 spectators.
Canada’s victory was a good storm warning for the Young Lions, as the teams will meet in the final match of the first group on the night before Tuesday. Finland won its own match against the Czech Republic in the winning goal competition 4–3.
Canada leads Group A after three matches with a full nine points. Finland will probably finish second in the group if they fail to beat Canada.
Saturday’s first match also saw an aerial attempt, but from the United States Logan Cooley failed in his trick. In the match, the USA easily beat Austria 7–0.
In the last match on Saturday, Germany and Switzerland met. In the end, Germany won the tight fight with a score of 3–2.
The World Youth Championship continues on Sunday evening at 9 pm with the match between Finland and Slovakia.
