Stubborn burglar caught in the act in Kortrijk

The man is suspected of at least 15 offenses, all committed last weekend and last week.

The suspect was arrested near MPI De Pottelberg in Kortrijk, where he hid the loot from his raids a little further. The detectives of the Vlas zone were on the trail of the suspect and when he appeared again with some loot near his hiding place, he was immediately arrested. All recent thefts and burglaries of which the man is suspected are situated in the wider area of ​​the Pottelberg-Engelse Wandeling and Rodenburg.

The suspect was transferred to the police station for questioning and further investigation. The man is of age, he could not specify a permanent residence and had a Romanian identity card in his pocket. He appeared on Tuesday 9 August 2022 before the investigating judge, who decided to detain him further and had him transferred to the prison of Bruges.

The police zone is now trying to link the loot found to recent reported thefts.
