In the road bike race at the European Championships in Munich on August 14, the German team relies on a double lead with the sprinters Pascal Ackermann and Phil Bauhaus.
Both had recently won a stage in the Tour of Poland. The classics specialists John Degenkolb and Nils Politt as well as Nico Denz, Alexander Krieger, Michael Schwarzmann and Roger Kluge are also in the squad.
In the women’s race on August 21, the German squad will be led by Olympic track cycling champion Lisa Brennauer, who is ending her career in Munich, and Liane Lippert, who came second at the European Championships. In the individual time trials on August 17, Brennauer and Lisa Klein are scheduled for the women and Max Walscheid and Miguel Heidemann for the men.
