The fire started around four o’clock this afternoon at a combine harvester in a meadow near the Weteringweg and then quickly spread to the nearby crop. No one was injured.
The plumes of smoke could be seen in the area. The fire brigade therefore advised all residents to keep windows and doors closed. They are now allowed to open again, says the spokesman for the Kennemerland security region. Because the fire is extinguished. The dry land is still being monitored with thermal imagers, should a new fire start somewhere.

It is still unclear how the vehicle suddenly caught fire. Due to the drought, the wind and the temperature, the fire could spread very easily over the field, the spokesperson explains.
