Four people were injured last night in an accident on the A4 near Weteringbrug. Things went wrong around 2:45 am, when after a collision a car ended up on its head and another on its side. Two occupants were trapped for a long time and had to be freed by the fire service.
At least two and possibly three cars were involved in the accident.
The fire brigade, several ambulances and a trauma helicopter were called. After the fire service cut open the wreckage to free the two trapped occupants, the four victims were taken to hospital in stable condition.
The road was closed for some time for emergency services, clearing up the damage and investigating the cause of the accident. Traffic to The Hague was diverted.
