Three men (17, 18 and 19 years old) from Emmen have been arrested for assaulting a 20-year-old woman from Dordrecht. The victim was beaten on the Hoofdstraat (near the Hema) on Tuesday evening. The trio is currently being held for questioning.
According to the police spokesperson, a report was received about the person in question around 10 p.m. It is not yet clear what led to the incident or the altercation. The suspects and the victim are believed to be known to each other.
The victim was not alone, she was with a friend. This woman has made a statement to the police.
One of the suspects was arrested the same evening, the other two were arrested yesterday. “The investigation is in full swing. We are talking to the suspects about what exactly happened and what preceded it.” Police are unable to say anything about the nature of the victim’s injuries.
If new facts emerge, the police will not rule out more arrests. Police are calling on witnesses to come forward. An attempt is being made to retrieve images from the Emmer center.
