The militaire oefeningen went donderdag rond de middag (local tijd) from start in zes areas around taiwan, along printed trade routes, and zullen nott tot zondagmidday duren. Tijdens de manoeuvres zal China de Taiwanese Kust tot op 20 kilometer naderen.
The bedoeling van de oefeningen is om a “blockade” van het island te simulate. The activiteiten omvatten “het aanvallen van doelen op zee en van doelen op de grond en het controleren van het luchtruim”, reports the Chinese nieuwsagentschap Xinhua.
