That’s how many points Ferrari has lost to Charles Leclerc

The Hungarian GP was the latest scratch in Ferrari’s notebook for losing points.

Ferrari’s activities have become the biggest topic of conversation this season. PDO

After the middle of the season, Iltalehti’s F1 editors divided the Lions and the sheep from the races so far.

Red Bull leads the Formula One World Series with 80 points Max Verstappen seems to be on his way to renewing his championship. His worst challenger Charles Leclerc has suffered unnecessary point losses due to his team’s blunders in terms of his championship dreams.

The Hungarian GP was the latest addition to Ferrari’s long list. Leclerc was only found in sixth place after the checkered flag.

The hard tires did not bite into the Hungarian asphalt as expected. The Monaco native had to visit the pit three times to change his tires. Verstappen, who started from grid ten, drove to the GP victory with a successful tactic.

How much does Ferrari owe Leclerc?

Sky Sports scored points for Leclerc, who lost Ferrari in six races so far.

In Spain, Leclerc had to stop the race from the spike due to an engine failure, for which he lost 25 points.

In Monaco, Red Bull reacted faster to the change in weather conditions and Leclerc was in fourth place, even though he had the ingredients to win the race. 15 points wasted.

In Azerbaijan, Ferrari’s engine broke again with Leclerc in the lead. The other 25 points were wasted.

Due to the events of the previous GP, Leclerc started the Canadian GP from the back of the line, but rose to fifth. Without changing the power source, more points could have been taken. 13 points for Leclerc again.

In Hungary, the wrong choice of tires cost the Monaco’s possible victory, leaving the points pot 17 points short.

In total, the team has lost 108 points from Leclerc, who is second in the World Championship. Without Ferrari’s fatal mistakes, Leclerc would likely lead the drivers’ World Series.

Leclerc’s own mistakes

However, not all points losses are entirely the team’s fault, as Leclerc himself lost seven points with his spin at the Emilia Romagna GP. This dropped him from third to sixth in the race.

In France, Leclerc lost control of his car in the lead. Ferrari slipped into the tire ramparts and missed the full 25 points.

Leclerc’s driving mistakes have cost him a total of 32 points. Still, it’s nothing compared to the points wasted by the team.

Even though there is still half of the F1 season left, Verstappen doesn’t have to squeeze the wheel as hard. Second places are enough for the Dutchman to maintain the lead.
