Guillermo Romero, how did your passion for wines come about?
Since I was born I have been part of the world of wine, since my family comes from the wine industry. In 1999 I decided to start my own project, contributing my grain of sand to the San Juan wine industry, creating one of the first wine bars in the province. La Casa del Vino has become my lifestyle, since for more than 23 years I have been by the side of clients who enjoy good drinks.
In what spaces do you offer your services and for what purpose?
After 22 years in our traditional location on Av. Libertador, we decided to bet on a new space, with the intention that our customers improve their experience. Our main added value of the new premises is that it contains the only underground cellar in the great San Juan. As our slogan “pleasure for wine lovers” says, we want whoever visits us to be comfortable and to be able to enjoy a glass while choosing the wine they want to bring.
What do they offer to the public?
Our main product is wine, in our wine cellar our customers can find wineries from all over the world, with the imprint that wine lovers can acquire new flavors and wines that are not easily found. We also have spirits, whiskey, champagne, local, national and international beers.
The wine bar is made up of a team of sommeliers, vendors and a marketing team that carries out the communication of the premises.
During the week the wine cellar is transformed into a tasting space, since our cellar is the epicenter of guided talks and tastings carried out by our sommelier. The wineries of a large part of the country choose us to exhibit their best creations, with the aim of providing San Juan society with greater knowledge about wines and living a different experience, something that cannot be otherwise, since we are the land of sun and good wine.
What challenges do you have for the coming years?
Thinking about the future, we want to continue growing, expanding our premises even more, generating more spaces for tasting and gastronomy, directing our gaze towards the tourism that visits the province. In a few words, in addition to selling a wide variety of drinks, we have a tasting area in our cellar and in the future we plan to add the gastronomic part.
