Most parents are positive, although they also warn their children. ‘First do another course to see what else there is besides farming life’, is the advice.
The farmers who reporter Ronald Oostingh follows know for sure that they want to take over the company, but that is not the case for all farmers in the Netherlands. According to the NAJK (Dutch Agricultural Youth Contact) there are about 16,000 companies where there is no successor. The advocate for young farmers has found something to do with this.
