Tallon Greek track has withdrawn from the ATP tennis tournament in Kitzbühel. De Nieuw-Venneper, the current number 46 in the world, is ill and will therefore not play at the clay tournament in Austria.
Greek track would face Yannick Hanfmann, the number 140 in the world, in the second round. It would be his first game in Kitzbühel, as he received a first round bye due to cancellations. Title holder Casper Ruud and Matteo Berrettini, among others, were not present in Austria.
As a ‘lucky loser’, the Russian Ivan Gakhov is the replacement for Greek track. He would also play in doubles with Bart Stevens on Wednesday, but that will not take place either.
US Open
In the coming weeks, Greek track will prepare for the US Open. The last Grand Slam of the year kicks off in New York at the end of August. Before that, he played tournaments in Montreal and Cincinnati. Last week he played in Hamburg’s last game. At the ATP tournament in Germany, he was eliminated in the second round by Borna Coric.
