Linda de Mol is criticized by Rob Goossens: ‘Silence is inconvenient’

Linda de Mol is criticized by television expert Rob Goossens. He finds it extremely inconvenient that the presenter remains silent about her role in the abuse case surrounding The Voice of Holland.

It seems that Linda de Mol has chosen to play the victim role for image reasons, but there are of course plenty of questions about her role in the abuse case surrounding The Voice of Holland. After all, she has been silent for a long time about misconduct by both Ali B and her ex-boyfriend Jeroen Rietbergen.

Clumsy Linda

Linda has never been questioned about this. The SBS 6 presenter has said that she never wants to talk about it again, but can Linda herself determine that accountability is not necessary?

Rob Goossens, the TV expert of RTL Boulevard, thinks not. He points out that people do want answers from Linda before they want to watch her programs again. “She’s silent and if you ask me, she shouldn’t have done that for her popularity,” he says in Veronica Superguide.

Missed opportunity

After the summer, Linda will return to television with her TV classic Miljoenenjacht. A ‘missed opportunity’ that she will do exactly the same on television, Rob thinks. “Prefer to use such a comeback to present a new version of Linda de Mol.”

He continues: “She could have become a figurehead for all the women who went through the same thing, women who were also cheated by their partner. Oprah, her example, did that very cleverly too. If she would tell what it really has been like for her, she will come closer to the people.”

Chantal new Linda?

Angela de Jong thinks Linda is too late to turn the tide. “Chantal is the new Linda and then nothing comes for a long time,” she says in the same article.

Although Nikkie de Jager can also come close, Angela thinks. “But actually she should just focus on the world, because she already does that very well.”
