Curious goal at the start: SV Wehen Wiesbaden starts with a draw against BVB II

As of: 07/25/2022 8:54 p.m

Wehen Wiesbaden started the new third division season with a draw against BVB II. The first SVWW goal of the season was one for the year in review.

SV Wehen Wiesbaden did not get beyond a draw at the start of the new third division season. In the home game against second-team Borussia Dortmund on Monday evening it was 1-1. Gustaf Nilsson scored the goal for Hessen.

Borussia could have taken the lead in the first half, but Bradley Fink aimed too imprecisely. After the break, Nilsson did better for SVWW. And how. BVB keeper Luca Unbehaun put the ball down like a free kick. But there was neither a free kick nor a goal kick, Nilsson switched quickly and pushed the free ball into the net to make it 1-0 (56th).

As a result, the SVWW failed to close the sack. And actually conceded the compensation. Rodney Elongo-Yombo scored for Borussia from 14 meters to equalize (77th). Because Emanuel Taffertshofer hit the post shortly afterwards, the final score remained 1-1.
