An 86-year-old cyclist did not survive an accident on the Van der Hooplaan yesterday. The man collided with a car around 6 p.m. He later died in hospital from his injuries.
Police VOA (Traffic Accident Analysis) team spent at least four hours investigating the accident site last night. Traffic around the adjacent roundabout was stopped for a while so that braking tests could be done with the car, police officer Jim says in a vlog on Instagram.
Help during heat
