Today’s part of the day is still comparatively leisurely at 3,422 meters in altitude. At first it is only hilly with two mountain classifications of the 4th and 3rd category. After almost 68 kilometers, the intermediate sprint follows in Lavelanet. Only in the last third of the day’s distance are the first two Pyrenees mountains on the program – both of the 1st category. At Port de Lers it goes up to 1,517 meters. The Mur de Péguère is then steeper. However, this is followed by a 27-kilometre descent to the finish in Foix.

16th stage
The tour entourage is now in the south of France. And that’s where the Pyrenees are, as is well known, on the border with Spain. In fact, today’s journey takes us to the second high mountain range after the Alps, which the peloton is expected to do on every tour. With a view to the overall classification, the days of decision are approaching. However, it won’t be really difficult until tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
