Hertha BSC | Report: Next Berlin star before the jump

After almost being relegated from the Bundesliga, Hertha BSC has already screened out a lot in the current transfer period. Players like Javairo Dilrosun, Arne Maier, Marcel Lotka or Niklas Stark have already been handed over, Jordan Torunarigha should follow shortly. At the start of the week, another Hertha star is reported to be planning his departure from Berlin.

As the “kicker” reported, Maximilian Mittelstädt should prepare his departure from the capital. The sporting perspective of the left-back had deteriorated significantly in recent months. It goes hand in hand with the renewed upswing of teammate and ex-national player Marvin Plattenhardt, who had regained his regular place in the Hertha starting eleven under Felix Magath.

Plattenhardt has also played a major role under the new head coach Sandro Schwarz, to the detriment of homegrown Mittelstädt.

If the 25-year-old has played at least 24 matches in each of the last four Bundesliga seasons, Mittelstädt is threatened with the substitute bench with the old lady in the coming season.

Maximilian Mittelstädt tied to Hertha BSC until 2023

Contracted to Hertha BSC for only one year, the former U21 national player should have been able to imagine a change this summer.

As the specialist magazine further reports, Mittelstädt is now said to be “very specifically” dealing with a separation from Hertha. In addition, there are said to be inquiries from other clubs who want to secure the services of the left foot. So far, nothing is known about possible transfer payments.

In total, the full-back, who can also be deployed up front, has played 128 times for Hertha BSC since the 2015/2016 season and scored two goals.
