Officers went with several units to the report of the wrong-way driver and tried to stop the driver. That didn’t work right away. “The driver did not respond to anything.”
By parking several police cars on the highway, officers were eventually able to force the man to stop.
The driver turned out to be an elderly man. He indicated that he made a mistake but that he did not come across any exits to leave the highway again,” the police wrote on Instagram. “Amazingly, there were no injuries or deaths here. This could have ended so differently.”
The man’s driver’s license has been seized. An investigation will also be conducted into the driver’s driving skills.
