The incident happened around 5:15 p.m. The victim was taken to hospital but did not survive.
The home where the stabbing took place is currently under investigation. More information about the victim’s age has not been released at this time.
According to a visitor to the cafe opposite the house, a woman with a baby in her arms ran outside. “They got into a car that was driving away at high speed. I suspect to the hospital,” says the man excitedly. According to other witnesses, the baby was about six months old.
Attempts were made in the hospital to save the child, but to no avail.
It is not the first time that the Wolphaertsbocht has been startled by a fatal drama involving a child. In January 2015, a 10-month-old baby was killed by domestic violence. His stepfather was eventually convicted.
