There are sports personalities who manage to enter the hearts of the fans with a few words and simple gestures. One of these is undoubtedly Kimi Raikkonen. The former Finnish Ferrari driver, among other things the last to have managed to win the drivers’ title for Maranello, in the now distant 2007, has returned to be talked about thanks to a video that has gone viral on social networks, which he resumed giving comfort to a dog left momentarily in the car by his owners. Kimi, on vacation in Tuscany, went out for a walk with his little daughter to eat an ice cream. When, as he passed a car, he noticed the presence of a little dog inside, he filled his cup with water and quenched his thirst through the crack in the window. Then he walked away with his baby and, noticing who was filming him, he let himself go to a shake of the head. As if to say, “But how can you leave a dog in the car in this heat?”.

Raikkonen was one of the drivers most loved by fans of the modern era, always perceived as very direct and not very inclined to all the liturgies that gravitate around the golden world of Formula 1. He has always said: “What I like about more than Formula 1? Driving these cars around the world. What don’t I like? The interviews and everything around “. His radio teams have become famous, and since they became public they have expanded his popularity. The most famous is “Leave me alone, I know what to do!”, “Leave me alone, I know what to do!” addressed to his engineer in the final laps of the 2012 Abu Dhabi GP, then won.

Or the hat given to little Tomas, the child who was framed crying at Kimi’s retirement after a few corners of the Spanish GP in 2017. Brought to the Ferrari pits, he was able to meet his idol who transformed that cry into a smile. With simplicity and empathy, the one that children recognize immediately and love. Kimi is a real one, even the little dogs know it by now.
