Hockey women are looking forward to the World Cup semi-finals

The German women’s hockey team is looking forward to the first World Cup semi-final in twelve years.

“We really want to find solutions, no matter what comes up,” said national coach Valentin Altenburg on Friday. Germany meets two-time world champions Argentina on Saturday (9:30 p.m. / DAZN) in Terrassa, Spain.

The two games lost against the South Americans in the Pro League in May no longer play a role for Altenburg. Since then, his team have made “good development steps” with regard to “our teamwork and the defensive fortress”, which is why he “doesn’t pay that much attention” to these games.

Kira Horn will not be in the semifinals. The 27-year-old did not make the trip to Spain due to a cold, and Jette Fleschütz (Großflottbeker THGC) has replaced her in the squad.
