Warren Barguil is the sixth professional cyclist to leave the Tour de France because of a positive corona test. This was announced by his team Arkea-Samsic.
The team’s other seven riders, including sixth-placed Colombian Nairo Quintana, tested negative, according to the team. Frenchman Barguil won the Tour’s mountain jersey in 2017.
Before Barguil, George Bennett, Geoffrey Bouchard, Vegard Stake Laengen, Guillaume Martin and Luke Durbridge had to leave the tour with a corona-positive condition. The next mandatory tests are on Monday.
