Conference League adventure starts for AZ with opponent from Bosnia

AZ knows the opponent in the second preliminary round of the Conference League. Tuzla City from Bosnia and Herzegovina settled 8-0 over two games with Tre Penne from San Marino. The number two in Bosnia is the first hurdle for the Alkmaarders.

During the first leg in San Marino, Tre Penne managed to hold out for a long time. In the 80th minute the Bosnians took the lead and in stoppage time Tuzla City doubled the score: 0-2. In the return, Tuzla City made short work of Tre Penne. After 90 minutes of football, the scoreboard was 6-0 in Sarajevo, where the match was played.

Initially, AZ would play the first game against Tuzla City, but because the stadium is not available, the first game will be played in Alkmaar. The first game is scheduled for July 21 and the return will follow a week later on July 28 in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

AZ stranded last season in the eighth final in the Conference League. Over two games, Bodo/Glimt was too strong. The Conference League is the third European tournament after the Champions League and the Europa League.
