Former Bundesliga professional Arturo Vidal now plays in Brazil. The 35-year-old has signed a contract with Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro.
“Today a dream came true that I’ve had all my life,” Vidal wrote on Instagram. “Now I’m a Mengao,” added the 133-time Chile international, referring to Flamengo’s nickname. According to media reports, his contract will be valid until December next year.
Vidal last played at Inter Milan. In Germany, the hard-fighting midfielder played for Bayer 04 Leverkusen from summer 2007 to summer 2011. In July 2015, Vidal signed with FC Bayern, before signing with FC Barcelona three years later.
Vidal, who had won league titles in Germany, Spain and Italy, was already in the stadium for Flamengo’s 2-0 win against Atlético Mineiro in the second leg of the last 16 on Wednesday night.
