The Council for the Elimination of Racial or Ethnic Discrimination (CEDRE), dependent on Equality, has urged this Tuesday the launch of a three-digit telephone number, 021, for complaints of racism.
This is indicated by Equality in a statement after the ordinary plenary meeting of the Cedre, where the reinforcement made in the new contract of the Service for Assistance and Orientation to Victims of Racial or Ethnic Discrimination of this body, which has been provided since The year 2013.
The service has been reinforced with the expansion of the central coordination team, which has gone from five to nine people, including a new legal advice team and another to deal with extended telephone service hours, which Now it goes from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., 365 days a year.
The service offices have also been expanded from the current 19 to 23, with new ones in Tenerife, Ceuta, an additional one in Madrid and another in Níjar (Almería).
