Police have issued several fines to people who blocked the A37 last night. Activists drove slowly from Zwartemeer towards Hoogeveen and stopped their vehicles at the Holsloot junction.
Police cannot say exactly how many fines have been handed out. According to a spokesperson, these are fines of several hundred euros. No tractors were involved in the protest, but mainly passenger cars. Many cars drove with upside-down Dutch flags.
It is not clear which organization is behind the protest.
