Leisure captains with rented rafts got stuck on the Havel. The water police had to move out at the weekend because of several accidents. Sometimes alcohol was also involved.
In Werder an der Havel, a sports boat operator wanted to avoid a sailing boat on a rental raft on Saturday. He hit a shoal and got stuck, police said on Sunday. The raft could not be freed on its own. The lender had to intervene.
Also in the municipality of Schwielowsee, a rental raft ran aground on the Potsdam Havel. The skipper had previously left the fairway. Here, too, the boat rental company had to pull the raft out of the shallow waters.
During a patrol, the water police also noticed on Saturday that a sports boat on the Lower Havel waterway near Brandenburg an der Havel/Kirchmöser had apparently come into a trap. The boatman was able to drive up to the police service boat himself, but he couldn’t get any further. He was drunk and was forbidden to continue driving, according to the police report.
There was also an accident on the Jungfernsee in Potsdam: On Sunday morning, when casting off from the berth, a pushed convoy slightly hit a cabin boat in front of it. However, the vehicles remained buoyant.
