Six dead after Russian rocket attack on flat, dozens of people under the rubble | Abroad

The rockets hit a five-storey building in the city of Chasiv Yar on Saturday night. Pavlo Kirilenko, governor of the Donetsk region, reports this on Telegram. The apartment complex then partially collapsed. According to information from residents, 34 people still have to be buried under the rubble. At least five people were injured.

On Saturday, Kirilenko said that the Russian army will continue the bombing campaign in Donetsk unabated. “The entire frontline is incessantly shelled,” said the governor. “They don’t stop firing in the direction of Donetsk.”

In recent days, the Russians have been wreaking havoc in the eastern region of Ukraine. Many people have died as a result. The offensive targets the cities of Kramatorsk, Slovyansk and Sivers. Those are the last Ukrainian strongholds in the Donetsk region.

Russia claims control of the neighboring Luhansk region and is now trying to conquer all of Donetsk. The aim is to occupy the entire Donbas area, parts of which have been controlled by pro-Russian separatists since 2014.
