Man from Coevorden darkens almost 6,500 PlayStations; jail sentence demanded

A 53-year-old man from Coevorden has been demanded 26 months in prison for embezzlement and making false tax returns.

According to the Public Prosecution Service, the man embezzled 6,464 PlayStations from the company where he worked. He then sold them through Marktplaats. He did not declare the money he earned with this to the tax authorities.

The Public Prosecution Service tracked down the man from Coevorden after the FIOD discovered that between 2010 and 2019 he had invested more than five hundred thousand euros with online gambling platforms.

Two men from Limburg and Friesland have been demanded up to 20 months in prison for money laundering, receiving stolen goods and tax fraud. The man from Limburg bought the game computers from the man from Coevorden and sold them on to the man from Friesland.
