Weapon expert explains dramatic images
The attack on former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was committed with a homemade weapon. Judging by the images, it appears to be a double-barreled pistol that has been put together. That is what the Dutch weapons expert Jaś van Driel says. “The large cloud of smoke most closely resembles a black powder rifle, familiar to us from images from old movies such as the American Civil War.” The expert is not at all surprised that the alleged perpetrator used a do-it-yourself gun.
