Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser (SPD) has announced that she will particularly target clan crime in Berlin and other cities.

“I want to make fighting clan crime one of my priorities,” said Faeser in an interview with BILD-Live. “It worries me a lot what’s happening there.” The police have to look very carefully when it comes to illegal assets from crime.

With a view to the recent auction of the villa shared by rapper Bushido and a clan boss by a 21-year-old son of the clan leader, Faeser said it was “very unlikely that the money he earned himself”. The rule of law must keep this in mind.

The recent outbreaks of violence in Berlin’s swimming pools would also require action, said Faeser. “For me it’s important that the rule of law takes action, that there are enough staff on site so that something like this doesn’t happen. Families with children have to be able to go to the swimming pool in Germany without any worries.”

The police presence there must obviously be strengthened. Looking at a video of one of the fights, Faeser said that if it was violence from migrant milieus, as it was there, it had to be called that.
