Subscribers receive free titles every month as part of Xbox’s Games with Gold program. Microsoft is again offering free games for July.
Games with Gold is part of Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. In addition to various other services, users also get a few selected games to download free of charge for a certain period of time every month. July’s free Xbox games
Four video games are coming to Xbox in July as part of Games with Gold. As usual, there are also two titles for Xbox 360.

Beasts of Maravilla Island (Series X/S, One)
Availability: 01.-31. July 2022
In this beautiful 3D adventure, a young photographer ends up on the eponymous island of Maravilla. As a player, you slip into their role to discover the magical environment and its inhabitants. Bit by bit you open up the ecosystem – also photographically.
The game received mixed reviews on Metacritic. While everyone agrees that the game world is very beautiful and entertaining, some note that the scope is quite small. All in all, an entertaining adventure game that you can play through quickly.
Thrillville: Off the Tails (Series X/S, One, 360)
Availability: 01.-15. July 2022
With “Thrillville: Off the Tails”, a game that was released in 2007 will be coming to Xbox free of charge in the first half of July. In this case, the name says it all! 20 roller coasters pose real challenges for the players – also in multiplayer mode. It is also possible to design your own routes and visit theme parks.
Overall, the game was rated fairly well for the Xbox with 73 points on Metacritic. The nostalgic and entertaining minigame collection will definitely keep you entertained.
Relicta (Series X/S, One)

“Relicta” is a real insider tip for puzzle fans. As a stranded physicist on a moon base, the player explores the environment. It is important to use the basic physical laws such as magnetism and gravity cleverly in this game for the Xbox. There is also a tragic backstory to discovering the moon base.
With a Metascore of 78, this rather unknown title is a real recommendation. Among other things, the clever puzzles and the atmosphere of the game are praised.
Torchlight (Series X(S, One, 360)
Availability: 16th – 31st December July 2022
The biggest name in the July free Xbox games list is Torchlight. The award-winning hack & slash RPG offers lots of fun in randomly generated dungeons. Killing opponents, exploring caves and finding rare items is a proven game principle in this case. There’s an interesting background story to this.
The Metascore for “Torchlight” is currently 81 – rightly so. Diablo fans will also get their money’s worth in this game. Pure nostalgia!
How to redeem the free Xbox games
If you want to download directly from the console, you will see a corresponding tile for Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on the Xbox home page. The games are then available for download in the corresponding period in the menu behind them.
Otherwise, the “Games with Gold” titles are also available online. The free Xbox games are then stored in the menu item of the same name. If you redeem them there using the button, you can download them directly when you log in with your Xbox. However, with both variants it is necessary to enter the credit card details, as with paid games. However, Microsoft will not issue an invoice for the game during the corresponding period.
