U17 European champion traded at FC Bayern

FC Bayern particularly likes to keep an eye on the French player market. According to a media report, another top talent from the neighboring country could soon come to Munich.

As “RMC Sport” and “Le Parisien” report, the German record champions are said to have recently made an official offer for Mathys Tel from Stade Rennes.

It is not known how much money Munich is offering for the 17-year-old left winger. The series champion is now waiting for an answer from the French, according to “Bild”. His contract in Rennes runs until 2024.

The youngster made his debut in Ligue 1 last season and made his professional debut there. A total of seven short appearances in Ligue 1 jumped out. Internationally, he collected for the first time through two substitutions in the Europa Conference League.

FC Bayern has a large French block in the squad

Mathys Tel was recently crowned European champion with France’s U17 national team. The winger featured in all six games and even scored three goals in the group stage. In the quarter-finals, Tel and his peers eliminated the German U17 team on penalties. Last year, the youngster also made six appearances for the U18 national team.

Should Tel actually switch to the pros at FC Bayern in the summer, he would meet five other compatriots. After the departure of Corentin Tolisso, who joined Olympique Lyon after the end of his contract, Dayot Upamecano, Benjamin Pavard, Kingsley Coman, Lucas Hernández and Tanguy Nianzou remain in the FC Bayern squad.

So far, the German record champions have signed three newcomers for the 2022/23 season. FC Bayern’s king transfer is undoubtedly the Senegalese Sadio Mané, who comes from Liverpool FC. In Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui, two professionals from Ajax Amsterdam are coming to Munich.
