Continuing education is worthwhile
Employed people should always ask themselves whether further training in certain areas makes sense. With new skills and the development of existing skills, you can expand your own profile and improve your career prospects. As the distance school SGD explains, it is not only the employees themselves who benefit from further training, but also the employer, who can thus avoid hiring external specialists, which is often associated with high costs. Further training is practically a necessity for employees, since deficits in the area of modern technologies and processes in the company are not welcomed and can also lead to a lower salary.
There is a wide range of further training opportunities in many different variants. These are also accepted by more and more employees in order to increase their own value for the company and to secure good arguments in salary negotiations. Because, as the magazine bigKarriere explains, further training not only increases self-confidence at work, but also increases the chances of negotiating a better salary. According to a survey by the ILS Institute for Learning Systems, 80 percent of people with further training experience have the feeling that they are more competent and self-confident in their job. A total of 45 percent were able to get a higher position in their company directly after further training.
The advantages are manifold
According to SGD, further training should be designed so that employees can complete it parallel to their job – this is the only way to ensure that no salary payments are missed. Of course, this entails the challenge of taking up work and education at the same time, which can lead to stress and time pressure. In order to be able to make optimal use of the advantages of further training, one should ensure that one chooses an offer that is tailored to one’s own needs.
The advantages include, among other things, the improvement of personal perspectives at work, because those who make an effort to regularly acquire up-to-date knowledge make themselves less and less dispensable for the employer. In addition, of course, there are the improved promotion opportunities already mentioned, since targeted further training not only strengthens one’s own position in the company, but can also open the way to new areas of responsibility. Also not to be forgotten is the simple fact that you can make everyday working life much more exciting with further training, since more and more varied professional paths open up when you are more familiar with more areas. Further training also increases the chance of being given more responsibility and influence in projects.
These possibilities exist
There is the possibility of further training on the job in a wide variety of professional fields. There are excellent opportunities for advancement, especially in areas where there are no protected job titles. The SGD names a whole range of professions in which one can particularly benefit from further training.
For example, in the real estate sector, further training to become a real estate agent or real estate specialist IHK can give you very good career prospects. For craftsmen, architects and engineers, it makes sense to continue training to become an energy consultant. Anyone who works in the communications sector may find further training to become a social media manager or online editor exciting, as both professions entail very attractive and exciting activities. Employees from the human resources department could consider training as a mental trainer, for example. Of course, there are also excellent offers in the technical field, both in the professional fields of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering as well as in robotics and IT. The possibilities are varied and there are plenty of them in most sectors; you just need to find the offer that best suits your personal situation.
