The anger of farmers around the ‘t Roegwold nature reserve near the Schildmeer is understandable, according to the agricultural nature association. The province also understands and supports them in their struggle.
Until 2002 this was still normal. Once farmland, now an open water with reed and sedge swamps, swamp forest, grassland and Dannemeer. As a result, ‘t Roegwold has become a paradise for birds. Farmers are now disappointed that the area is on the nitrogen map, which threatens their survival. Photo: Wilco van der Laan
