The Lieferando bosses had not ordered this menu: protest, chants and banners. Employees of the food delivery service demonstrated against their own company on Revaler Strasse.

Triggers of Anger: Lieferando invited his employees to the “Summer Pool Party” in the “Haubenaucher” club on Friday evening. At the very end of the invitation, the note printed in bold: “drivers are excluded”!

A staff party without the people who cycle through Berlin every day for Lieferando? A spokeswoman for the company emphasized to the BZ that the break should “strengthen cooperation and team spirit”.

But: There is no real reason why the messengers were excluded from the party. Instead, just a PR statement: “We really appreciate the work that our drivers do on the streets.” That’s why regular get-togethers and barbecues are organized for them.

“One single lie,” says driver Max (36). He claims: “I have been with the company for over three years, there has never been a barbecue for the drivers. We are excluded from everything.” Why does he still work at Lieferando? “The job is great, but the company sucks…”

Lieferando is said to currently employ around 1,600 drivers in Berlin. The company does not want to confirm this: “These are internals,” they say.
