A ROBOTS FACTORY AT MY SCHOOL

What is a SIMA Creative Space or SIMA Fab Lab?

It is a space where students in the case of Schools, or both Teachers and Students, in the case of Municipalities, undertake a Pedagogical Route, where they will learn different skills and abilities necessary in the Digital Age, which has as its center the Process the Manufacture of an Educational Social Robot, although the final product may vary according to pedagogical projects.
In order to carry out this process, the space must have at least 1 3D Printer, 1 Sima Plate and, if possible, Arduino Kits, VR Glasses and Augmented Reality elements.
In essence, in the process the students will learn Digital Manufacturing and 3D Design, to create the parts of the Robot, Robotics to be able to join the plate and the motors, Computational Thinking and Artificial Intelligence, to give life to the Robot.
You can also work IOT between the Robot and sensors with Arduino, Immersive Training and specific use of the Metaverse, with Virtual Reality lenses and Augmented Reality principles with different options.
This management of Emerging Technologies allows the Digital Talents of each student to be worked on along the way and even the levels of higher years to manufacture the Digital Tools, which are going to be used by those of Initial, closing a complete learning and interaction process, if the Institution I have all the levels.

What level of investment does an Institute or a Municipality require to create these spaces?

Precisely the main advantage of these spaces is the low cost, comparable to the cost of 1 projector cannon or 1 Notebook, for a similar amount, I am creating my own Robot factory, with thousands of other possibilities.
It is only the purchase of 1 3D Printer, the SIMA Board, the License and Designs, plus 8 motors with 1 Battery, you can see at www.fablabsima.com, the options and values, highly accessible as I detailed.

Does it include Training?

Training is included in all options, obviously depending on the investment, the accompaniment will be longer and more intense, but it always includes the initial training given jointly by our team from Chile and Argentina.

Is there any experience to mention as an example?

The most prominent case example is the FAB LAB in La Rioja, where a space was set up designed not only for students and teachers, but also for the general public, since it was set up with windows facing the street so that as they pass they can see and even enter and consult, on how they are working with the technologies exposed there in the Schools and receive a much more powerful Feedback, in order to be the project in a format of continuous improvement, based on all the views that are taken as reference .

In addition, visits are received from Teachers and Directors from other Provinces who come to learn about the proposals and contribute their experiences and knowledge.

The Director of the FAB LAB SIMA La Rioja, Lic. Gustavo Almaras told us ¨The Province has implemented this space within the framework of a project in which it has decided to incorporate new technologies in the Educational System, with the clear concept of shortening the Digital Divideto investigate, test and develop technologies that will later be incorporated into the educational system , to train teachers and students in the skills and abilities of the 21st century ¨
