His opponent Opelka is called an anti-tennis player in the tennis world because of his strong serve. In rallies, the American barely manages to resist. Van Rijthoven admitted that he had trouble with his opponent’s service.

“It is very difficult to find the break against a big server like Opelka on grass.”

“I am very happy with this win. It is very difficult to find the break against a big server like Opelka on grass.”

Nevertheless, De Roosendaler succeeded a few times. The two were close together, but Van Rijthoven thought he was the deserved winner. “I broke him well in the first set. Then three tiebreaks. The first was very close, the second I won by one point, the third I was just better.”

“I’m looking forward to the match against Basilashvili.”

Now in the third round awaits a match against Nikoloz Basilashvili. The Georgian is placed 22nd in this tournament. “I’m super happy to progress to the third round and I’m looking forward to the match against Basilashvili.”

If the Brabant player also manages to win this match, he will most likely have to face Novak Djokovic. The number one placed.
