As of today, June 29, SME entrepreneurs in the retail trade (non-food) with 2 to 50 employees can get started with further digitization of their business operations via ‘My Digital Business’. This joint initiative by industry organization INretail, Chamber of Commerce, MKB-Nederland, RVO and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy offers entrepreneurs personal advice based on the results of a scan, a step-by-step plan, an overview of suppliers and a subsidy up to a maximum of 2500 euros.

Studies confirm that almost all entrepreneurs are engaged in digitization. Four in five entrepreneurs have at least a Google listing, a website, digital financial administration and make backups. But a lack of time and knowledge and a lack of clarity about the returns hinder entrepreneurs in the step towards online sales, marketing and/or digital security.

personal advice

INretail has mapped out which digitization solutions have the most effect on productivity and future-proofing for small and larger stores. Think, for example, of website security and payment systems, cloud checkout systems, intelligent e-mail systems, search engine optimization and web shops. KVK used this for the development of the digitization scan. By answering the questions in the scan, entrepreneurs receive personal advice, appropriate to their entrepreneurial goals. It also becomes clear where the entrepreneur stands in relation to peers.

Subsidy

To help entrepreneurs further on their way, MKB-Nederland has developed a website where national and regional digitization suppliers present themselves. The entrepreneur can also apply for a subsidy from RVO. The subsidy reimburses 50% of the tender price up to a maximum of 2500 euros. The subsidy includes software, hardware, advice, implementation costs or outsourcing to third parties.

Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate, Micky Adriaansens: “Digitalization is important to remain relevant in the future, which is why we want to help entrepreneurs take that next digitization step. Entrepreneurs who digitize often work more efficiently and are more profitable. With ‘Mijn Digitale Zaak’ we help SMEs to make real work of digitization. For example, with a scan that provides insight into what a company can do and with a subsidy. I say to entrepreneurs: join in and discover your possibilities. I look forward to the experiences.”
