Defender Timo Baumgartl returns to the team for a few hours after being diagnosed with testicular cancer.
Surprise guest at training! Timo Baumgartl (26) stopped by the old forester’s office on Tuesday morning. The defender does not hide!
In May he made his testicular cancer disease public and has been receiving treatment ever since. It is not yet clear when he will be able to practice with his colleagues again. After the diagnosis, he said at the time: “Everyone is behind me, that means a lot to me.”

You saw that on Tuesday! The colleagues were visibly happy about Baumgartl’s visit and hugged him. Coach Urs Fischer (56) exchanged a few words with him. For assistant coach Markus Hoffmann (50), he even pulled his hat down and laughed and showed him his bald head.
At the end of the training, Baumgartl played a bit of football. The goalkeepers Frederik Rönnow (29) and Lennart Grill (23) shot him a few balls, which he then passed back. On the way down from the training ground, he talked to Sheraldo Becker (27).
