She burns for the fire service and for sports. And the newly crowned FireFit European Champion Meghann Krüger (26) has immortalized this passion on her body. In BZ, the woman from Spandau explains the meaning of her tattoos.
“I made an appointment to get my first tattoo when I was 17 and got it done when I was 18,” she says. “My mom wasn’t thrilled at all.”
Today, almost 20 motifs adorn her skin, and the number is constantly growing. Krüger has only set one rule: “I’m left-handed, that’s where the heart is. The left side of my body stays the way Mom made me, I can’t change that.”
One experience was worth an exception to her last year. In Thailand, she had the five Buddhist rules of practice tattooed on her left forearm. “It was my first vacation alone. I’ve learned a lot about myself, experienced adventures and have been much more at peace with myself since then,” says Krüger.
The Berliner even dedicated several tattoos to the fire brigade and sports. A self-portrait in full gear including 030 helmet, dummy and her unmistakable eyeliner adorns her shin, among other things.
“All tattoos still have a meaning,” she says. “And next comes a mandala skull on the back.”
