A training plane from airline Transavia crashed this morning in the Zwarte Meer between the municipality of Noordoostpolder (Flevoland) and Overijssel. It concerns a two-person Blackshape BK160 Gabriel. A Transavia spokesperson confirmed this to NH Nieuws. According to Omroep Flevoland, emergency services have been deployed en masse.
Broadcasting Flevoland reports that the KNRM has sent boats and that an air ambulance, a coastguard helicopter and a coastguard aircraft have been alerted. In addition, there are diving teams at the Zwarte Meer.
The cause of the accident and the fate of the two occupants are not yet known. Omroep Flevoland spoke with an eyewitness. He would have heard bangs and seen the plane crash straight down.
Transavia has been training student pilots in two of its own training aircraft at Lelystad Airport for several years now. It would be one of these two Blackshape devices.
