Marco Koch becomes champion again

Old master Marco Koch won another title at the German Championships in Berlin. The 32-year-old won the 200-meter breaststroke in 2:14.17 minutes.

His German record from 2016, which was also a world record at the time, is 2:00.44 minutes. World Championship participant Henning Mühlleitner came in second behind Sven Schwarz in the 1500 meter freestyle.

Since the World Championships are taking place in Budapest parallel to the national title fights, the best German swimmers are not or only partially present at the event in Berlin. The German championships are held as part of the finals in the capital.
